Celebrity Rehab.

One day, when I grow up, I'm going to have cable, and I'm going to be able to watch this stinkin' show that everyone keeps asking me if I saw. I'm so jealous of folks being able to see it. I wish, though, that there would be a junky on the show. I hear there's not a single heroin addict. What gives, VH1? Scared of the challenge of fixing a junky?

Ah, TV. Just when you think that nothing is too taboo for them... they suprise you with their cowardice.
Thanks for dropping by, and for commenting. :) I finally made an entry for the first time in forever tonight... it's not very pleasant stuff, but writing about how I feel helps to let all the shit out I guess.

I saw the first episode and was totally hooked. It combines two of my favorite things, celebreality and recovery.

It is just sadness, packaged and electronically magnified for consumption. What's truly ironic is that it is edited for drama. As if that was something an addict (or those who love them) needed more of.

And for all my talk about how having cable now makes me feel like an adult? Well that's all well and good but I watch very little. I mean what was I thinking? That I could subscribe to feeling like a functioning, contributing member of the world? As if!

I like your Britney Spears post. I like how it illustrates how you have really come to know yourself. And that is the foundation for my belief that you will always be able to find your way through anything.

In all honesty, I think "Intervention" on A&E is soooooooooo much more powerful...and shows people who have truly hit rock bottom.

As a recovering alcoholic, I remember getting nauseated after I watched my first episode of Intervention about an alcoholic because it hit that close to home. It's a nice reminder after being sober for two years that I am one drink away from that.

Celebrity rehab is a good show about the reality of recovery but...a lot of these people are not dead broke, losing their jobs, or ready to let go of their public persona.

That's just my opinion, however. :)

I hope you are having a good day, my dear!! :)

Fro some reason I cant see whatever else in under the sentence about rehab being so hard for celebs and that they aren't at some kind of spa -- which mad me laugh btw. Oh yes they are cause I have been there with them yo. Lmao!
Anyway, I think shows like this are kinda sad -- that we like to watch others pain and bullshit. But then, I watch Intervention and thats more of the same really, isnt it?
Love you girl!

That show is crazy. I am obssessed with it. Like I am obssessed with Intervention on A&E.
