The bf came home after work the other day and was beaming. :) He told me about a patient who proclaimed their sobriety...and he proudly said that his girlfriend (me) has been sober for almost two years, as well. I was blushing. :)
I agree with this article--my partner has learned A LOT about recovery through me and about how he was basically taught quick fixes to problem patients (i.e. writing a three day script for someone with a history of drug abuse just to put them at ease).
He agrees that they do not focus enough time on addiction in the medical field...
It's amazing what you can learn from people in recovery, huh? :)
