Thanks, folks, for your nice comments. It helps to have all that affirmation. Today is ok.

I have been thinking of you since yesterday. I wish I had something wise and deep to say, or the best advice to give. I got nothing but virtual hugs and trust that your inner strength and wisdom will help you get through this.

We don't know each other but my heart hurts for you, and for your junky. Your strength is a true force and is uplifting to see expressed here. I'm glad you're okay today.

You are amazing.

I missed meeting the woman who founded my Nar-Anon group by just weeks. When I joined, she was in hospice and she died just a few weeks after I started attending. But I felt like I knew her...from all of the stories and pearls of wisdom everyone attributed to her. Her husband finally got clean after 30 years of marriage. 30 years. And then they had 20 clean years together. Though I never met her, she's one of the people I most look up to.

I know this is not your bucket, but wanted to add that aside from methadone as a resource, buprenorphine is another resource that my addiction doctor friends love using with their patients. It does not require daily visits and can be administered in a conventional doctor's office setting versus in a methadone clinic.
