Why Don't You Just Trust Me?

Edith Whoreton sent me this image of a super sexy junky painting. She suggested the caption, "Why don't you just trust me?"

I suggested a context for the image. He's holding his girlfriend's cell phone. She wants to see it because she believes he's been calling the dealer. He has totally been calling the dealer. He needs a minute to delete the phone number, but she wants the phone now, so he's clutching it to his poor, wounded junky heart, asking her, "Why can't you just trust me?"

Ha! Again, not exclusive junkie behavior. :) I found a very clearly worded SMS on the cell of the love of my life, D. Asked him about it - wide-eyed innocence. She is just a friend with a weird sense of humor - your jealousy is not hurtful - don't you trust me?! He got a bump on the head when I threw the phone at him and left.

That was supposed to read "so hurtful"...

Not to get too deep, but the shadow is so telling ... only half his face is in shadow ... a metaphor I kind of thought ... Jekyll and Hyde ... Its Hyde we all love, but he comes with Jekyll ...

I get all that about the cell and her wanting to see it and him trying to get rid of the mumbers, but whats that tied around his waist?

That's his magical junkie penis!
This is actually part of a larger painting (http://jamesdeboer.com/gallery/paintingsdrawings/paintings/-/1/-/the-argument/), and in the larger painting you can see it better, but I'm still not really sure what it is. I think maybe they are growing futuristic robot dope or something.
