Fentanyl Overdoses

Here's an article explaining that last year's rash of heroin tainted with killed more than 1,000 people. According to the article, fentanyl produces a euphoria similar to heroin; however, to reach the level of intoxication required to achieve the euphoric effects, the user increases the risk of respiratory depression at a much greater rate than with heroin. Not only did the fentanyl-tainted heroin risk killing more folks because of the combined respiratory depressive effects, it also was difficult for addicts and dealers to calculate an appropriate dosage of fentanyl.
