I Have Nothing To Say.

I've been waiting and waiting to figure out what to say because I really like this painting, and I wanted it to accompany a post. Normally, I think of a word, Google Image search that word, attach the image to the blog, and then blah blah blah to go with the picture. It's been my favorite part of blogging...finding the illustration for the post. Finding just the right picture with just the right mood makes blogging the perfect medium for me. I've always liked the way that writing and art intersect; hence, my ridiculous marriage. Hence, my ridiculous job.

But this time, I liked the painting first, and I found it in this pointed way. I thought I would have something to say that might mesh with it, all that death and flying and menace and smiling and especially the lady death with her cigarette and lamp post. But nothing came to me. I'm too excited about hardwoods, apparently; alternatively, I'm stifled by my disruption of the process to which I've grown accustomed.

So here's some blah blah blah blah blah blah blah to go with the painting so that I can move on with my life.

Blah Blah Blah. Blah blah. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah blah Blah blahbitty blah blah.

Blah.

Cool Art.

I found some interesting art from Wang Nanfei while looking for stuff online today. I especially liked the Daddy Is Sick series, but some other works were pretty interesting as well. Check out her art here.

Tigers under water.

Look at the underwater tigers! They are menacing and chasing meat. I didn't know that tigers go under water in this way. They're so pretty and scary...it's like something from a dream. I want a tiger in an aquarium! I want to dream about tigers in aquariums!

Having an aquarium tiger would be kind of like keeping an addict for a husband. My mother once said something about how I like pit bulls as my favorite dog. I was saying that it's kind of funny I like the biggest, dumbest, most dastardly dog for my favorite since I generally have a high respect for intelligence. She said, "Well, that's how you like your men. Real handsome and slick and always in trouble."
Silly mama.

Jessica Dimmock Photography

Wow. This stuff is amazing. It's a photographic record of the lives of a few New York City heroin addicts. It appeared in New York Times Magazine. Kudos to the Heading East blog for finding it first.
