From My Friend.

I took macaroni and cheese that I made and some other stuff that folks from work had put together for our friend who lost his wife yesterday. He seemed to be ok, surrounded by piles of food, his mother, and his pets. He also seemed to be kind of falling apart in ways. He's a good, strong man, though, and I hope that time and all the warm thought, prayers, and love flowing in his direction can make him ok, with time. He sent this out to some folks yesterday, and I thought it was very wise:

...if I may be so presumptuous, a word of advice, from someone who has now learned the lesson in the toughest school there is: treasure every moment with those you love; don’t waste time bickering over nothing, because there isn’t time for it. Cherish every smallest kiss, because you don’t ever, ever know which one will be the last.

And a few words for his wife:

...you made me a better man than I was, and I’ll always keep doing my best to try to be worthy of you, no matter where you are.
