Goodbye.

I think I'm retiring this identity now. It has served me well, but I want to tell other stories.

If you have found this site and it has been helpful to you, I am happy. I am happy that my experiences with my husband's addiction have been useful.

And to anyone who might find it for the first time, please know that God is with you. In the most difficult times, I've been able to feel God's hand holding me, carrying me through.

I can offer no better advice than this from pg. 164 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous:

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.

May God bless you and keep you -- until then.

I've been looking for you for weeks. I'm sad to see you go, but I realize life takes us on new adventures and old coping skills/outlets are no longer appropriate.

I do appreciate this last post. The previous dead end made me worry. Nothing worse than a fretting codie. (:

Thank you for all you do and have done, especially for your great legacy: the JWC. I don't know what almost 300 folks would do without it.

Namaste.

Comments are open for the finale'. It has been my pleasure reading you - even when you spoke about the brittle and painful things that are going on you managed to write with such cause and care of the topic, you managed to show, sometimes with humor the raw facts of real life... and I do hope you keep on writing in some venue - because you are gifted.

Wish I would have come here sooner. Thanks for this and for JWC. You have done good service.

And thanks for your kindness to me personally. Your diplomacy was an inspiration of integrity and compassion.

Your Voice will be missed, but as others have mentioned, I suspect it will emerge in an even larger forum.

I'm always too self-conscious b/c I think so highly of your recovery....that I never have anything that springs to mind to say. Just hoping that you have an idea of how much you have meant to so many of us in the blogosphere. You are a miracle, and I consider you to be a blessing.
YOU GROW, GRRL!!

Sometimes, when an addict is finally feeling backed into the last corner, they become willing to do whatever it takes, not whatever they think or whatever they want. And sometimes, they bolt, because they don't wan't people to see what comes next.

I hope someday you break your addiction's back. It has been a painful read.

And what your husband ends up doing... is up to him.

It sounds harsh, but it is my perspective.

I've read you from day 1.
