Zen Meditation And Addiction

I thought this article on the benefits of meditation for people in recovery was pretty interesting. I'm not sure how I will get my incredibly inflexible (physically and spiritually) husband to try it, but maybe if I set up the option of walking meditation in the evening with me or meetings, he'll give in.

Oh, damn it, I'm trying to control the addict's behavior. Goddamn step one. So at least I can try the meditation for myself.

I've been reading a draft copy of the latest Nar-Anon literature, and it seems to acknowledge the connections between thought and practice and the 12 steps pretty wholeheartedly. I thought it was something that I'd observed independently, but the first page of the draft copy I have is a discussion of meditation and a recommended pattern to guide your .

Pretty fucking cool, I think.

I've got to hand it to you..it has to be so difficult to not want to control. I have my own issues all the time.
